Drains batteries within a few hours even when turned off. It does seem to have a slightly brighter or more focus laser which helps with spotting in daylight. As an appraiser, I wanted to try using this with my iPad, but found that the Leica app is pretty much useless and the regular appraiser apps don’t integrate with the D7500i. I was hoping that I could the Disto App to draw floor plans, but as you draw and assign measurements, the lines to do not change scale to accommodate with measurement. This means that drawings look like a four year old drew them.

I’m a real estate appraiser and use this tool primarily to measure houses. I’ve used this in the field for a couple weeks. The produce Bluetooth’s with my iphone 5s automatically. I use Alamode total mobile app and sketch. The blue tooth option saves time and lowers errors from manually entering in the wrong dimensions). This is an expensive option for measuring a house, but does save time and is convenient.

This device is on me at all times. I love how more of my apps I use for contracting sales are intergrading the bluetooth functionality of the DISTO. I give it 4 stars due to the fact that I have not fully put the unit to the test. Well built and, so far, easy to use. I have used it inside and outside in all weather conditions with no problems.
