  I sell these TVs so I will happily share with customers that the JU7090 is a one-off “Frankenstein” model created specifically as a Superbowl promotional item. The panel in the TV is not a Samsung Panel. You can very easily confirm this by going into any store that has it on display and see on the back of the TV the “VERSION” will not be TS01 or TH01. Only those two versions are a Samsung LCD panel. Why do they do this? Simple, to get the customer that doesn’t have a lot to spend into a TV that looks and smells like a high end TV but doesn’t contain the high end build quality features. You are much better off buying a 55″ JU7100 or 55″ JS7000 if you want to stay close to $999, and at least this way you are getting a Samsung panel. The image quality is drastically different. The true Samsung panels do not look different when you are looking at them off-center. They also have much better black level and contrast. The missing features: Pur color, Ultra Clear Panel, and Wide Color Enhancer Plus have EVERYTHING to do with picture quality. This is why they are absent from, the 7090, it’s a different panel.

  EVERY popular brand in the TV industry does this!!! Sony is currently doing the same thing with their 850C Model series….

  It would be like buying a Mercedes Benz or BMW that has an engine from Hyundai under the hood :-(I have been selling TVs since 1999.

  Let’s get this out of the way first. This is a 60 inch 4K $1000 TV. If you are expecting or wanting a perfect picture you will not be happy. I went into this expecting less than what I got. The TV exceeded my expectations. I am glad I did not spend over 2K on a TV like I was planning on.
  Here are the settings I have settled on for now. I am really happy with the picture with these settings. Of course this is all subjective and you may not like them. But maybe it will be a good starting point for some.
  pic mode: natural
  backlight: 10
  contrast: 100
  brightness: 40
  sharpness: 60
  color: 40
  Tint: g50 R50
  With these settings I am pretty thrilled with the picture for what I paid.
  I know many wonder about the 3D but have a hard time finding info about it. To me 3D was very important. I did not expect it to be as good as it was. I read on consumer reports that the 7100 had pretty bad 3D. Since this TV seems to be a stripped down version of that I was worried about this. Well I watched a 3D movie last night and was nicely surprised to find it was great. I may of saw some ghosting toward the back of scenes but really nothing that bothered me. Overall it far exceeded my expectations.
  Setup was very easy and no problems with any of the apps I have used. I use Netflix, Amazon and VUDU.
  Again, if you are really picky this TV is obviously not for you. If you just want a very decent picture and the features this TV offers, for 1K I don’t see how you can go wrong.

  Bought this TV 3 days ago and so far I love it. Picture quality is great, Smart Hub features are easy to use and very responsive, and setup was a piece of cake. After reading a lot of skeptical reviews and message boards I thought I’d give it a chance and if I didn’t like it, I could always return it. I’m glad I went for it. You are not going to find another TV this size and with this picture quality at this price point anywhere. I understand it is not the top of the line but for under 1000 bucks, it’s well worth it. Also, regarding other reviewers saying its not a Samsung panel, that is most likely true since Samsung does not make a 60″ panel unless they just stared with this TV. This is a very common practice to buy panels and other parts from other manufacturers and just about every brand does it. I can’t imagine a brand like Samsung would put subpar parts in their TV and tarnish the good reputation they have with TV’s. Also, I’ve read people have concerns that it is not HDCP 2.2 compliant. Well, if you did the minimal amount of research you would find that EVERY TV that BestBuy sells is HDCP 2.2 compliant, including this one. I also contacted Samsung just to be sure and they confirmed it is HDCP 2.2 compliant and fully future-proof.
  Bottom line this may not have the best picture or the most features but it’s also half the price of most comparable TV’s. For a TV this size and quality, you can’t beat the price.
