Headless mode is basically a method implemented on a drone that allows you to give up worrying about orientation altogether. Wonderful UFO style Drone with built in WiFi Camera! Fun for everyone!,

For my son’s birthday we decided to get him this UFO style drone with the HD camera instead of the smaller ones that would break easily. He just turned 12 and is really into electronics so it wasn’t too hard for him to grasp the concept of how to fly this. I really like that this drone has the shape that it does because it is easier to control and if/when it falls, the blades are protected. It comes with the Drone, the remote that looks like a game controller (It can hold the cell phone on it too), lens holder (to block the glare on the cell phone), USB battery charging cable and 2 batteries, 6 extra propellers and an easy to read user manual. The batteries should be charged for 50 minutes each. Just be aware that each charge will only give you about 6-9 minutes of flying time. I am so happy that this comes with 2 batteries so we can have more time to play. Once the battery is about to die out it give you a beeping warning so you can get the Drone back to you safely. The return home button is perfect to use at that time. It is a great feature so you don’t lose your drone (I have had friends that have lost other drones in flight before).
Once you set it up and calibrate it, it can be ready to use. There is an app you can download on your phone so that you can see where you are flying it to live from the phone. You can take pictures and video as well with the drone’s built in WiFi camera. The UFO shape is a huge plus like I mentioned before and my son was super happy that he can do tricks with it like the 360 degree flips! It has LED navigation lights on it so that you can use it at night as well. I haven’t yet taken it at night to film or take pictures but I will update when I do. The remote can control the Drone up to 80-100 meters away (260 to 328 ft)! My son makes flying this look so easy and I might just need to purchase more batteries because waiting to charge them is the hardest part for a preteen!

|A TON of fun and easy to fly,
After reading through the user manual, charging the batteries, downloading the phone app, setting up the drone and phone controls we took it outside for a test run. There is detailed instructions in the user manual for beginners to use Headless Mode and One Button Return until you get used to flying. I would suggest having a good sized area with some lawn for soft landings until you figure out the controls and have honed your flying skills. There were a few not so soft landings before we got it dialed in with no damage to the quadcopter. That tells me it’s a sturdy drone and can take some punishment. The anti-crash protection prevents damage to any of the components. One battery will give about 10 minutes of flying time give or take a couple minutes. There is an extra battery so be sure to keep it charged so you can just switch them out. It will take just under an hour to fully charge one battery. There is a low battery alarm that will alert you when the battery is low and needs to be charged.
The quadcopter can be operated with just the remote or with the remote and your phone. It has LED lights that look really neat flying at night. Each time the quadcopter is used it has to be paired to the remote. That is done by switching on the drone, then the remote, pushing the left toggle control all the way up, then all the way down, at which time you will hear a series of beeps letting you know it has paired to the remote and your ready to fly.
In the box I received the quadcopter drone, quadcopter remote control, 2 quadcopter batteries, 6 spare propellers, usb charging cable, attachment to hold phone on remote and very detailed user manual. The user manual has pictures and is very easy to understand. We had absolutely no problems setting up the quadcopter drone and the software for the mobile phone control. The only thing I had to do was supply 4-AAA batteries for the remote control, everything else needed is in the box.

I must say this is one of the best drones I own. This drone has so many options that you can do with it. I really like the fact that it comes with an extra battery so you can have one charging while using the drone. The controller takes a little bit to get used to as it is touchy. But once you figure out all the functions on it you will be having fun. The drone lights up just like a UFO would. The added bonus of the attached camera on this drone is great you can take pictures or videos while flying it and the video is so clear you can see a lot. To use the camera you do have to download an app on your phone. I have the iphone and this app and drone connected very easily. There is a place on the controller for you to put your phone so you can operate the drone from your phone also. I haven’t quite got the hang of the app, I personally like to use the controller. Once your phone is snapped into the holder on the controller you bring up the app on your phone so you can turn on the camera. You do have to connect to the drones wifi so you can record which is very easy to do, just go to your wifi settings and select the drone. I live right next to the airport so I can’t fly my drone very high but I am going to include a video that I took while learning to fly so its a bit shakey. I will update with a new video once i take it to the park and fly it. One thing i will say is do not put your fingers by the propellers while they are spinning as they will cut you even though they are plastic. This drone has quite a bit of power behind it. You do however get extra blades in the package in case something happens to a propeller, along with a tool. One thing I have noticed is that if you land too hard your battery lid will pop open and your battery will be hanging out so be very careful so you don’t wreck the camera. I wouldn’t recommend this for little children just because of the propellers. I would highly recommend this drone to teenagers and adults, its a lot of fun.

This is the second DBPOWER quadcopter that I have had, this one works great and is easy to put together and fly. Please see notes at the end of this review regarding the first one as it’s the same link making it impossible to leave two separate reviews. In all fairness, this quadcopter can be flown by an amatuer with zero experience with just a little practive. I did a little survey in my neighborhood asking 3 of my neighbors if they have ever flown a quad, only one of them ever has. It seems that many men are intimidated by them and I don’t understand why especially when there are such easy quads to fly like this one. My husband is an older guy, mid 50’s and toys are not his thing, but he was able to put this together and have it in the air within about 30 minutes. Now that’s set up time, reading instructions and taking it to our park, so that’s not bad. Our son is a quad/drone enthusiast and he wanted to have something that they could do together when they have days off. This is really simple enough for a young child to fly if you were to show him control features. I don’t think my husband would use the 3D virtual aspect but my son would love that! I might have to order them for when they fly together. Very cool option. You can fly this with just the basics of the remote, reminder to do a little fine tuning first or use your phone and download the app. The camera is on the bottom of the quad so you can see where it’s flying. There are 4 lights underneath so you know that all 4 motors to the propellers are working.
Our first quad with DBPOWER was: DBPOWER X101C FPV RC Drone with HD 720P Wifi Camera Quadcopter One Key Return Function and Headless Mode for IOS & Android, Compatible with 3D VR Headset. One propeller did not work at all. After several discussions with the seller they opted to have us be included in this promo to test the above quad at no cost to us as a replacement for the one that did not work. We gladly accepted this offer.
