  I am a new Leica owner and wanted to know a bit more about the history of this instrument which has contributed so much to documenting the 20th century (and hopefully the 21st as well). This book is well organized, with technical innovations interspersed with stories of the great photographers who used them, and some of their iconic images–images any history buff is already familiar with.

  It is also beautifully printed! A fascinating book for Leica lovers, or anyone interested in the history of photography.

  Every Leica fan should own this book. When I ordered it I was concerned that it would more focused on the equipment than on photography. When I got the book I saw that it is more photography than just another Leica model history book. It is interesting to see the evolution of the models alongside with the photographs actually taken with the given models.

  A great little single volume many if not all Leica users would appreciate. It is current up to the Monochrome and APO Summicron 50mm and traces the history/evolution of Leica as well as the works of well known Leica photographers.
