Amazing Speakers!!!!,
As for set up, i use these primarily for music and have them wired to a Infinity interlude sub which seems to be a decent match. I also have a Sonographe SA-120 Amp hooked to a forte F45, which sounds really warm with these speakers. I see many people wondering if their systems can run these speakers, my advice would be 120 watts minimum, I don’t know much about surround systems, but would recommend a receiver company that makes solid power Amps for their units….I’ve always heard that Onkyo makes solid power supplies for their receivers.
As for sources, I’ve been listening to allot of vinyl through these speakers, and they have re-sparked my addiction to searching old record store which i have loved. My table is a Project duet through a Rotel Phono-stage which sounds amazing with these speakers!! Again classical music and Jazz sound best, Rock sounds great to as long as it’s mixed properly. For fun i played some classic NWA vinyl 100 miles and running and it sounded great, and had my girlfriend cracking up. Sade sounds amazing, and Tom Pretty’s Damn the torpedoes sounds really great too. I recently picked up a bunch of Duke Ellington on vinyl which sounds amazing, it’s like the band is in the room with you, and Jazz at the Pawnshop makes me feel like i’m in the bar where it was recorded….Really nice effect. As for CD’s, i have an old DVD player that i use; it sounds great to my ear, and streamed music sounds just as nice…
On a final note, i once worked in a stereo store selling all high end equipment, Rowland Amps, David Wilson audio speakers, Threshold preamps, Goldmund turntables, all really ultra high end high stuff. We had a Midfi room that had all the Martin logan B&W and similar equipment which is mainly what you sell. The issue with these speakers is where do you put them? If i had a midfi store like most stores, they would make it hard to sell all the other speakers which are twice the price. This is the only reason that i can figure that you don’t see them in stores…..they would kill everything else on the floor because of the price.
Hope this helps!! I’d also like to hear more about what others think of these…..I love the Sound!!!

Wow, Great full rich sounding speakers.,
I read the reviews on the Fluance XL7F speakers, and anxiously waited for the the UPS God for delivery.
The were well double packaged and all in perfect condition. After patiently waiting for the 10 hour seasoning period. Put on my the usual Rush 2112 (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab mastered) and The new Immersion Dark Side of the moon. I swear I hear things I have never heard before, rich highs and the bottom was so deep that I put away my subwoofer.
Fluance can offer these great speakers at this great price because they sell them straight from their own manufacturing plant. So you are not paying for the middle man, or any other extra costs involved.
I strongly suggest trying these out for the 30 day money back guarantee period before you spend 2000 on speakers that do not sound as good!
